i honestly dont see why you would want a redline like that. the sr's stock redline is 7500 and thats more than plenty. just get a nice big turbo that doesnt spool to full boost until 5K and youll have what your looking for. under 4500 and easy throttle youll get good gas mileage and driveability but when you hit it youll smoke alot of things. just make sure you shift in time

oh jeez, not this again. everywhere I go people say this, but I know from experience, that its FALSE. alot of cams ARE bad for high revvs, but dont assume that they all are! I guess its just one of my peeves, but the correct cam can help a piston rev like a rotor!

A guy I know had a partially built turbo B18c5, floated a valve at 8746 (thank you realtime dataloggers ) rpm, then built a new, identical one (except for new pistons/rods), let me pick out a new cam, and now shifts at 8500 every time, and has not had a single problem yet. dyno'd it up to ~8800. nice car. very nice.

and so that I can scare the **** out of people when I paint a 7000 rpm redline on my tach and when they see me going to 9 they say "HOLY ****ING **** DUDE!"

happened to me once, and I crapped my pants.

It's simple logic the steeper the slope on the cam profile and greater lift increases you're chances for valve float. Go ahead and install big cams with out new springs and watch the vavles float at rpms where the stock cams wouldn't.

Not all cams have higer lift. you can get cams with longer duration and stock lift. like I said, works on my buddies Teg. but his were reground to have less lift, so....

But, it's still higher than stock. So then it'd still be a worse upgrade for revving. But a damn good one fo horsepower

no, they actually came with stock lift, and he had them reground to have even less.
