Wide tires on stock sized wheels looks pretty dumb. I suggest lowering the side wall size before making the tires wider. That way instead of looking really fat and round they have a more aggresive look to them. 205/50 or 45/16 might look alright.

yeah i agree i don't want a huge sidewall i just want a wider stance.. thats also why i have been considering wheel spacers and wider tires and try to keep the sidewall the same height i already have.

i believe the stock tire size is 205/55 R16.. so do you think by going with 205/50 or 45 would make the tire wider?? i'm just trying to fit the widest tire i can on these wheels... but making sure it still looks good...

no.... 205 is the width of the tire in millimeters 55 is the hight of the sidewall in millimeters so 205/50 or 45 would only make your sidewall smaller but it will be the same width ie ruberband tire lol

for me i use 235/40 R17(F) and 275/40 R17 (R) on my SSR's

yeah thats what i figured it would just make my sidewall smaller.. so what size tire should i use on the stock se rims and be wider than the stock size tiresand still keep my sidewall are the same size?.. keep in mind im on 16's not 17's....
thanx

What is the stock wheel width? 7.5j? If so there is a pic of some 225/50/16's on a 7.5j on this site http://www.zcar-owners.net/club/hikaku/us/zusvszjp.htm doesnt look all that bad. Any wider and it will be baloon status. If you do this though make sure you get some grippy *** tires like AO48, Azenis, hoosier d.o.t. radial wets, etc etc, just because getting wider tires that dont grip for a damn makes absolutely no sense.

225/50 will fit on se wheels, although they are only 6.5" wide I've seen it... looks pretty cool with 1" spacers. Personally I would pick up a set of like 16x8 kosei k1's and some 245/40s all around instead
