HKS ground kit. . . . ???????

dont know if this is the right forum for this question but its close anyway.
does anyone know if a ground kit is worth the money (about $115). a seller i contacted claims everything running on electricity in the car will work better (i.e. lights will be brighter, idles better, maybe gain a few hp, that kind of thing)

anyway, ive never heard of it before, any suggestions?

i am new but i know soemthings about cars. from what i read it seems like your talking about hypergrounds. and if this is i ask u something what allows more conducion. the body of your car (because everything grounds to the frame then to the negitive side of the battery) or some 8 gauge wires. it may look better so i dout i wouldn't help performe better and it saves you 115 bucks.

Seriously, good game for punctuation.

Anyhow, the grounding kits you see from HKS, Sun, etc. are designed to replace your puny, tiny ground cables with thicker ones. The HKS set also has a circular metal "disk" with which you're supposed to attach all of the ground wires to. i.e.:

- ground wire from chassis to disk
- ground wire from engine block to disk
- ground wire from engine head to disk
- ground wire from ___ (anything grounded) to disk

The point is not only to reduce voltage resistance, but to also help eliminate electrical "noise" that can be generated by ground loops.

If you're decent with a crimper and you make your own grounding cables for the car, you can save yourself a lot of $ (like what Aznpride whatever dude was trying to say). The HKS etc. sets are premade to fit certain chassis.

Along the same subject, there's also voltage "cleaners" or "filters" that attach to the battery terminals, and claim to reduce electrical noise as well as filter the voltage. These run around $125, but my brother (who has multiple degrees in electrical engineering) told me that with the right knowledge one can build the same thing for about $30 and a trip to an electronics store.

from a product standpoint, the Hypergrounds are a better product since it has 1100 strands of pure copper in each cable. My source is directly from Sun Auto themselves. HKS earthwires look good...you get what you pay for.

There's these wires my brother uses in his home theater setup that are supposedly really good, plus he's an electrical engineer so I trust him with elextronics... when I get a set I'll try them out and see if they work
