i heard the driveshaft is 2 parts so i wouldnt have to take it out of the diff right? i just need the part thats between the tranny and diff. my friend did a clutch swap...drop tranny and all..its basicly the same thing right?

just take the whole drive shaft. undo the four bolts connecting it to the rear end, undo the bracket in the middle of the drive shaft, then you should be able to pull the shaft out of the tranny fairly easily.

i dont understand what you are asking at the end...

I know this is an old thread, but I have to resurect it for some info. I just totaled my 91 240. I bought a '90 xe. I am going to put my 24de into it because it's 24e needs a new cam, and I would rather have the de in it anyway, and it's an auto, so I want to put the 5speed from my late model into it. Do I already have all the parts I need in my totaled car (still runs and drvies, but wrecked on driver's side, so it is in perfect condition mechanically). Also, do you think somebody who has never done tranny work would be successfull with this swap following that s14 guide? Thank you, any input would be great.
