clutch slave cylinder?

clutch slave cylinder?
Can somebody tell me what a slave master cylinder is? I was told that I need this part to do a automatic to manual swap on my fastback. Is it a part of the master cylinder? or does it attach to the tranny?

well first off... its not a slave master cylinder at the same time. you have a master up in the engine bay, and a slave down on the transmission. the master one is what the clutch pedal attaches to and actuates, and the slave one is what is moved by the master, and it disengages the clutch.

o ok... I got confused when someone told me to get slave master cylinder. Well I have a choice to make. I am also doing a sr20 swap. Do you think I should get the nismo slave cylinder or will a regular oem slave cylinder hold up to the sr20? Whats the difference?

whats the difference? uhh, a name, more money and a sticker you can put on your window... I dunno? NISMO stuff rocks, but I dont know what the price difference is or if its worth it on THAT part. I know you can get an OEM slave for 13 bucks at www.pdm-racing.com.
but if you're doing an SR swap, shouldnt it come with the 5 speed tranny already? then you shouldnt need a slave at all, it will have one OEM already on it. if you are doing an AT to MT swap, you WILL need both the slave and master cylinders, they are a team, and the pedal for the clutch, etc. but its not a slave master, its slave AND master.
and the 'holding up' to the engine is more of the clutches job, you get a stiffer clutch to withstand higher HP, the slave cylinder will push it no matter what, unless its hopelessly blown or gone...
and about the SR swap and the AT/MT swap, do some searching on here, I think a lot of people have done it or are doing it, and you can find a lot of info on here. you might find that helpful
