rebuilding a transmission

so i bought a tranny from a guy because mine was basically shot...now that i put this one in my car, its starting to act up like the other one did, (grinding when i push in the clutch and change into gears)...now that i have my original tranny out i wanted to get it rebuilt but i dont know average prices on rebuilds or reputable companies, local preferred. i want to do it myself but i really dont know where to get parts or the procedure to do it...can you guys help with these issues? thanks

yea but alot of them want like 600-700 bucks for a tranny thats already out of the car and without installation...i was wondering if anyone new where to get the gears, bushings, synchros and **** like that just incase i do it myself or if anyone new of any shops that are trust worthy..ive heard some bad things about aamco but the are the cheapest at 300 w/o parts

its not gonna be cheap to have someone rebuild a transmission, You would probably be better off just buying another one for cheap than rebuilding. Just don't blow this one up...

No it is alot easier than you think To rebuild a tranny than you think, I agree the FSM is cool and explains alot with the pics and all but you ahve two missions now rips it apart and play with it you will see that the inputshaft bearings are the trickiest part. I have not been able to salveage any of my past Missions as I have destroyed them beyond repair (cost)

Don't think about it just do it.....
