Torque Converter Fluid

I just put a new engine in my car. I used the original AT and torque converter. I got it all bolted together with the new engine and droped it back in the car. This guy told me that I needed to refill the torque converter with 2 liters (i think) of Auto Tranny fluid. Is this true?
I already filled the tranny with about 8.5 quarts of AT Fluid.
I didn't fill the torque converter at all. I thought the torque converter was a completly seperate viscous fluid housed internaly of the torque converter.
It didn't seem like anything came out of it when i took it off..?
I already bolted everything on and wired the engine and i just wanted to try and start it tomarow, would i be able to drive?

you should not have to fill anything else the car should be fine he was probably telling you it could hold 2 liters of ATF, The tranny will pump any necessary fluids to the torque converter.
