I'm totally new to driving manual and I've had the car for about 3 weeks and I'm pretty sure I've got the hang of it, been driving no probllems, no grinding, stalling, whatever...

Buuuuut sometimes when I'm shifting from 2nd to 3rd gear, there's an odd bump half way thru the shift. Like I hit something, but it's not enuf to stop the shift and it goes into gear smoothly. I'm not sure what's causing it but it's wierd... sometimes it's hard enuf that I'm afraid to go into 3rd for fear of it.

Any ideas?

 

hmmm, this seems to only be frequent when the car is cold, once it warms up the problem generally goes away... I think I may need to change my gear oil. Is there any way to know this for sure?
