Question bringing an engine from Canada to the US

Like the title says. I'm in MI and it would be cheaper for me to go pick up a motor (or 2) and bring them back. there are two jdm importers in Montreal. Are there any rules that would stop me from doing this or any goofy fees i need to pay to make this work? I wasnt sure where to post this so this seemed like the spot.

you could get away with it as long as customs does not give u hard time. border patrol is pretty lenient about bringing things back unless they get suspicious importers lose money from you bringing that stuff down to the US so im sure they try to not let it happen a lot i dunno interesting idea tho

I doubt they care, my opinion is that the US wants all the importers wearing cement boots in the river. I import and sell my items properly and I've had endless problems with Customs, State Patrol, and even the local zoning department. They all see these stupid fast and furious movies and that's how we are all categorized. I'm about ready to move out of this state and let all the old seniles kill each other with their awesome driving.
