rb20det vs. sr20det

The RB is cheaper, 1200-1500. SR rings in at about 1800-2200. However, the money you save on the motorset, you have to spend on custom motor/tranny mounts and a driveshaft. it's also harder to wire. The SR is the easiest swap out there, and ends up being cheaper cuz of the crap you need to buy for the rb. The RB also has a few more horsepower and torque than the SR, but the SR has a TON more support by aftermarket companies.

That's not really true, the rb20det, has less torque (strange I know despite being a six cyl).
It has a crappier torque curve too.
RB25DET that's another story of course and not to mention the RB26DETT...
I've wanted the rb20det as well... but i don't know anymore...

rb20 is more of a direct swap than rb25/6. with the rb20 you can just use an r32 xmember and the stock rb mounts. use the rb tranny and the s13 ds bolts right up. If i considered a motor swap i wold go with an rb, i don't like how sr's feel or sound.

thanks for all the help everyone, well i read this one post on another site and this guy in japan had a rb and he said that his friend drove a sr20 silvia. the rb had like 300hp i think and the sr had like 250 and the guy with the rb said that the sr slowly beat him! so he said that the sr is better cuz its lighter than the rb with tq. he must know what hes talking about if he has the rb. plus i looked on ebay for things for both the rb and the sr and i found like 6 more pages for the sr. and not crappy parts at that. parts are around the same price for both but the sr had way more parts to pick from. i asked a friend if ebay was a good place for parts and he said he has never had a problem, just look at there feedback rating and how many people. so if there are other people wondering what i did on this subject this info should help.again thanks guys.
