reliability issues??

Howdy,

ok, so how reliable are these sr20's? Are there any issues, like over heating etc?

And also, how can you drive the car if you live in California?? WIth the legality issues etc.

Thanks in advance

JAred

Okay first get the notion out of your mind that the SR20, RB series and CA18 are super engines .

They are reliable. They are engines...just like your KA. If you dont do maintenance, it will break. If you take care of it, it wont (well it can, but less likely). As far as the Cali thing...I havent had a car registered in awhile there. My Altima is, but it is out of state. Anyway, people have gotten SR20's to pass. I dont know the specifics since I live in a non inspection state. I have heard of driving the car hard before you get it inspected or using race gas..... The info is out there. If it isnt feasible...become friends with a smogger.

cali the only way to make the car legal is to get a crooked smogger. Thats the only way most people do it.

People have gotten teh SR20 to legally pass. A crooked smoger is the easiet way. A smog test is cheap (well last time I got one)
. If ou have a few bucks to spare, try different things and see what you can come up with.
