Swapping a supra twin turbo motor

I recently saw in a superstreet in the readers rides section that a guy had swapped the 2jze twin turbo motor into a 91 240. I was wondering if anyone has heard of this or known anybody that has done it.

ive heard of it. you can pretty much fit any engine in a 240. but if you were gonna do inline 6 i would just go the rb25 route and stay nissan. i love the 2jz engine but i dont think it should be in a nissan. plus im pretty sure the 2jz is about the same price if not more than a rb.

I agree with you on staying Nissan in fact I have been planning an rb25 swap now for awhile. But, the 2jz is a little less expensive and its twin turbo. I just dont know whats involved as far as the wiring and mounting it in the car. I assume both will be a custom job.

umm... ever heard of a rb26dett? Solves both your problems right there.

Are you saying a RB26TT swap would be cheaper then a 2JZ?

Also, they do make kits for a 2JZ swap. I heard it's not to difficult.

Yes I understand that there is an rb26dett but like said earlier, it is a lot more expensive than a 2jz.....do you know where I can find one of these kits for the 2jz swap?

RB more expensive than a 2J? Ya sure

RB=5k+

2J=7K+

Yeah, wiring will be a slight issue with the 2J, RB is so much nice i would say.

Meh its your wasted money.

Why would you want to do this swap anyway?? most supra owners end up with a single turbo! you kids, quit making life harder for yourselves. theres too many interchanging abilities in the nissan world to be thinking of a $20k+ swap for your 1991 240. smart people go faster in the end. lol.

You can pick up a JDM 2jzgte with everything except intercooler and piping for 2500... not to mention, the same kits allow you to bolt up a 1jzgte and that you can get a front clip of a car for 1800..

Mmmm...I don't know if I'd call it a waste. Any Toyota engine, I'm sure, is as reliable as most other Japanese makes (Nissan, Mazda, Honda...)

I've driven a Supra (N/A) and, MAN, that straight-six makes a glorious noise! Sorry, it sounds better than a 240. *hangs head in shame*

The Supra's downfall is it's weight. It's got a great engine with good power and torque, but the thing weighs over a ton-and-a-half, whereas a 240 weights just over 1.2 tons. 200+ HP engine in a 240 sounds like a formula for fun to me!
