So you are saying that i should just get a car that I hate, just because it has a v8, rather than improve on a car that I love. Sounds like you hate 240sx's more than me???

First off fords suck, and secondly You can use any chevy tranny you want with the conversion. Its not that bad when you look at it, so you should all get the facts and open your minds.

Chevy parts are everywhere, and the motor is five times more reliable. Parts are cheap, performance is a no contest, so that is why i would choose the chevy engine. Infinity's engine is good, no question, but as a performance swap it lacks the after market and availability that the chevy 350 has.

5 times more reliable? Yeah i know there's more parts for an ls1 an so on. the q45 is much more efficient and does have alot of potential its only a 4.5 liter revs a lil more and makes 10 less horsepower than a ls-1. Id like to see what one would do in a lighter shell. most of all its still a nissan motor. Not that i'm against what your doing, theres a guy that works next to my friend who has a 350 or something in an old rx7. last i heard he was having traction problems and kept doing1/4 mile burnouts at the track still pulling 13's

hummmmmmm.............well sometime ago Nissan thought that they would sell Silvia's and 180sx in the US states, well what did we get , it was called a 240sx with a truck engine in it, (ya oh boy)every other country that got this silvia/180, except Canada would have the SR20 in it, seems like we got screwed over for some reason.

I think doing a LS 1 swap would be the best swap for the 240, you would have that deep V8 sound, instant power no lag, and pass smog, and would kick azz on most F-body, stang, and stock sr swaped 240.

So...approximately how much would it cost to put a 350 in a 240sx? because it sounds like a a good idea to me.

and what kind of stuff would have to be bought other than the motor?

How much HP/Tq can a 240 chassis take before you need to do chassis reinforcements?

I have seen a guy put a big block into a VW Bug and he launched it for the first time and it tore the chassis in half lol...

If the price is around $5200 for the swap. than it would never touch a 240 with that much money in it including the price of an sr motor. The 240 would actually be able to take a turn as well.

Yeah, its a sexy swap. if you get it you will be happy, trust me. I know i will, and i am what you would call a student of automobiles, so i am always looking at different cars and how they can help me further the one i have at the moment. I know ten times more about the 350 than the Ka, so i will be in heaven when i comes to performance. If you get the swap and don't know much about the performance aspects of the 350 then feel free to ask any time.
