More original????? I think the LS1 idea is really good, and can't wait to see the finished product. As far as originality goes, Ive seen tons of RB swaps, never a LS1 swap. And if you are trying to that you are keeping the car more original by swapping a RB, I can pretty much guarentee that no 240 came off the assembly line with a RB in it....... Rock on dude, the LS1 is a killer idea. Good luck with that wiring harness...

im doing a lt1\t56 swap in my 97 240sx, cant wait, should be done by april or may. i would chose a v8 over a sr and a rb motor any day of the week. why spend thousands to get 400-500 hp then you got to rebuild and put pistons in the motor to handle all the hp . i got a full lt1 swap for $1000 with 350-400 hp not sure but my buddy had a bunch of bolt on work done to it. any way got a juice kit for it. he did 11.3 on a 150 shot in a 96 camaro, 3500 lb car. i put that set up in a 2800lb car and i should see 10's for about $1500 with fabrication and including the motor and trans set up. now thats definetly a good bang for the buck. to see 10's with a sr or rb you need like atleast $5-7k

hell yeh, v8 240sx with stock lookin body is a total sleeper.
with my set up after the motor is rebuilt i should have close to 400hp and 450tq. im lookin at a 11 second range 1\4 mile time. il be spraying a 150-200 wet shot so with that i should do probly a low 10 and MAYBE a very high 9.. i will have to put some custom subframe connectors. but other than that im leaving the suspension stock exept for the struts, gonna probly put KYB's and leave it at stock hieght.

Good luck launching that thing or getting under a 1.7-1.8 60 foot, you will HAVE TO be on slicks, with all that power your going to have to be able to put it to the ground and in a little 240, MY MY. But go do some highway racing in a v8 powered 400+hp 240. Ok street racing is bad, but you get my drift!

i cant do much highway stuff here, to many NJ state boys are out, im dont with street racing, to many honda rice boys thinking they do 12's with there fart can and 7in tach. yeh launching is going to be a problem, im gonna put mickkey thompson ET streets on the back. dont know what size yet, gotta messure up

It's all what you want to do I guess. I like to look at the whole package like the USCC(Ultimate Street Car Challenge) done by sport compact car. Enter your V8 240SX and see how it does on the skidpad, braking, slolem, roadcourse, emissions, and fuel consumption.
