What's with 10's? Why should I care about 10's? If all I cared about was drag racing I'd put a T88 on a RB25, Tub the 240 and put big mickey thompsons on it. But I don't. I want something with alot of power, good handling, brakes, economy, and comfort. All you're going to do with a V8 240 at the strip is break rear end parts IF you are hooking up good enough to turn 10's. There are alot lighter chassis's out there alot cheaper than 240's. Try a free 79-85 RX-7 with a 350 in it if you want drag racers best bang for the buck. I'm not wanting to start a arguement, how you mod your car is ALL ABOUT THE APPLICATION. A majority of people modding their cars drive it everyday and like me want the car to perform in every catagory. BTW I was just over in Japan and saw a Old GT-R like the one above, very nice!

thats also a good point, and I am sure if we had the chance to get our hands on some of those JDM only cars it would have made an even bigger effect on the car market than the few "important"????? dare I say???? cars like the old 240 and 280 Z cars. But the fact is, we didnt, so the cars that we must credit the american car market with helping us get where we are would be the cars I was reffering to. I am sure in Japan the cars you are talking about would be the same kind of thing to them. So I agree with you too, we just happen to be in the wrong country, haha, ohwell, we cant be in more than one place at a time.

Good luck. ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha.
yeah man you freaking rank on him! who freaking does that.. v8 chevy in a 240sx or any import car... That freaking guy should go buy a freaking american car!!!!!!

so lets see:
stock 240 motor gets 140 hp and 152tq
ford v8 gets 225 hp and 300 tq

stock 240 gets 20-28mpg
ford v8 gets 20-28 mpg

ford or chevy v8 car for parts... 400 bucks
any nissan swap at least 1200 bucks

ford v8 300 tq at 3200 rpm good
chevy v8 325 at 2300 rpm bad..instant burnout and loss of control

and ford gets better gas milage than the lt1 and if your gonna do a chevy do a good motor..do the lt1...ls1 is pointless compared to the ls1. and imnot a ford lover or chevy hater, cuz id love a zo6. the ford v8 just seems to better fit the appication.

so with some motor mount fab, shorty headers, and removal of all crappy computer parts, and stiffer springs in front, means you would have a beast for around a grand. and with the right combo of resonator/muffler and tips, no one would ever know u had a v8 till u took off with ur front end 4 inches off the ground...YEEESSS!!!!!

and instead of bashing 2/3 of this post and all other v8 swap posts...how about u post only information relating to what the person asked and stop hating...dang someone tries to do somethign a lil orgioniional here and everyone freaks. i think maybe like 5 posts actually had to so w/ what the dude asked.

I would love to see it run. That would be a great drag car.
that's it? a built sr can make 2x that easy

What ignorance....you cant compare an NA LT1 too a boosted SR. Lets boost the LT1 shall we?

NO REPLACEMENT FOR DISPLACEMENT

Besides, the SR is missing a big variable to the equation....TORQUE

haha, i agree... but it's true, with those numbers now, it really isnt that much... especially for a v8. Ka's have torque!
and turbos, and NOSSSSS are very easy 'replacements'

Okay, My friend and I are both doing LS1 swaps into our S13's. For one, I had a 378whp SR. I can make that much w/ a LS1 with just a cam. I will get better gas mileage than the SR. The LS1 weighs 20lbs over the SR! So lets see:
LS1,Trans, ECU, Wiring= $3,000
Motor/Trans Mounts= $150
GTO Oil Pan= $250
Driveshaft= $450
No firewall or tranny tunnel modifications.
Now I have a car with TORQUE, 6-speed, better fuel economy, balanced almost the same as the SR, and parts are cheap and easy to come by. Mid 11's STOCK anyone?
OWNED!!!
