airbox question

airbox question

I don't know if I saw it here or somewhere else (I tried to search but could not find anything) is the square box attached to the air box nessecary??? I am putting on a aftermarket intake and don't know what to do with this box What is it???... thanks Lee

Crap. you can pitch the damn thing into the garbage. I actually used it to rig up an air damn to send air into my engine from underneath my turn signal. My car is a model S13 so I don't know if you can set it up like I set up mine. No matter what year make or model of your 240 it doesn't matter though you can pitch it. Although if you want to get technical you should save it just in case...

if you are installing an aftermarket intake then anything and everything that has to do with the stock intake should go. except for sensors.

It's just a resonator box to quiet down the intake sound when your engine is breathing. If you're putting on an intake, you can remove the resonator box along with the rest of the stock intake piping. Just don't toss the MAFS and the IAT sensor
