chassis mileage question

if its reported that the chassis has about 200k but the engine is rebuilt/swapped, would that matter much? I found a car, and as far as i know its a pretty dam good deal, but I'm having a hard time convincing my father if we should go for it or not, his reason being thats its an 89 and the chasis must be rusting, he is alright with the fact that the engine is JDM...any thoughts?

my chasis has 225K miles. its in excelent condition. no rust no nothin. it all depends on the previous owner and where the car came from.

but anyway its much easier to repair the body damage (rusts, dents..) than mechanical damage (bad motor), so feel lucky if it has a rebuilt/swapped engine. =)

My 89 has 273k miles on chassis/ motor and runs like a champ check out the chassis the undercarrage engine bay and everything to make sure no rust. I plan on sr20 swap so mileage means nothing. of body is straight and car runs great thats all that matters

it shouldn't be a problem if the frame is straight (meaning no accidents)... bushings and tension rods might be in need of replacement/upgrading soon though depending on the previous owners driving/parking habits
