it's hydronlic so air in the line could be your problem or bad seals on your slave and or master cylinder. it could also be the throw out bearing.

1st you should look for a leak under your dash coming from the master cylinder right above the clutch pedal. next check the slave cylinder for leaks.

2nd if no leaks are found then bleed the line. i recomend that you completly drain the line so you can get all the seal and o ring particals floating around in the line.

3rd well if you still have the problem then i can't help you any more i don't know much about the thow out bearing.

NOTE TO MODS. seeing as how this is a commen and legitamit topic, perhaps it would be in the forums best intrest if threads were merged and sticked it. seeing as how this gets asked often enough i or anyone else could have said to do a search. but that would only discurage otheres from posting these questions.
and it's not like he's asking if he could get 300hp out of his ka with just bolt ons.

anyways just a thought. also if this has already been done sorry of asking i haven't seen it and yes i did search

1. you need to bleed your master cylinder..........sorry i can't be more specific but i have never performed this operation on a 240 but when i had to do it on my saab 9K(ugghh) it was simple.

2. if this does not work then you know your master cylinder is bad.

hope this helps

like i said this exact problem was with my saab i bled the MC 3 or 4 times and it was fine after that.
