I say we make a thread for it in the "For Sale" section and start enforcing it a.s.a.p

I added the Ebay info to the "READ ME FIRST" thread... I left a space in there for it. I also added some text on "One Hit Sellers".

If you could keep to the practice of linking the bad threads to the "READ ME FIRST" thread, I think we can get somewhere with this =)

Perhaps just one thread devoted to ebay items? although item descriptions won't exactly be visible in a search of just thread topics...

I think it is important to list ebay items. The design of the forum was to interpret other peoples opinions to find better products for ourselves as well.
It would be ignorant for us as a group not to allow these listings.
Example: when someone says "yeah man I found like this super duper tight turbo on ebay, what do you think yo!"
I can come back with a statement and say that, "the turbo is a piece of shiat do not buy it". "Or this seller is a scammer do not buy it". Or "shure why not it looks like a good idea".
The fact is we are a community trying to help others that can be indesisive and/or ignorant to the sales scams that occur, alot of which happen in this performance based industry and especially on ebay. In (human nature) alot of scammers are out for that quick buck.
As for myself as a youngster, before I was taught better rules to life and my well being, I was always sacrificing more money for products than that was needed to be paid for. I think in many ways we prevent the misfortune to happen to others. We also help our fello friends and members to save money where ever it can be saved, it's like they say some people do not have a mind of there own, but they can be taught to be trained to have a mind of there own.
We are here to expose the many truths to the cars that we drive and the parts that we buy. It is very important to expose the many truths, and the 90% of crap that is sold on ebay......
Most other forums that you go to that do not expose ebay listings do it for the sole intent that it will destroy the sales for the sponsors that promote those forums and keep it running with the money paid for through adds. It's all politics when it comes down to it and that bueracracy stinks with ignorance and the intent to only sell the sponsors products. Examples: (nico, zilvia, fresh alloy).

That is a totally different context in which we are talking about banning though. Making a post asking about something on ebay is cool in my eyes and I have no problem with it at all. The only ones we have a problem with are when someone goes into the "Private For Sale" section, makes a post, and when you open that post all that is there is an ebay link (which lately, more often than not do not work).

Vinnie at least read the rest of the thread before making your usual huge-*** post/response... this time you posted about the wrong idea regarding the subject of the thread.

I read it, I guess I skimmed through way to quick. I thought it was more of banning ebay post altogether, like most other sites are. Places like Nico, Zilvia, and fresh alloy are starting to think that it is spam from a member posting, and usually they are detected by the moderators and deleted.
I had a post of mine deleted that wasn't even ebay related, it was a product that was sold at nizzx, and the moderator deleted it and told me that it threatend there sponsorships.
There will always be forms of spam coming through the forum. Weither ebay related or not. If members are smart they will just ignore the post setup by an ebay store and let it run to the end of the listings.
I would think not to even care, unless the posting are getting rediculous and out of control. I don't think so, so why bother.
In any case it should be more of banning members selling spam not the ebay listings.
Take member 87na for example he has 18 post total. He doesn't care what the specifics of the thread is when he does a search and posts a responce, it is always about a ASP pulley that non stop tunning sells. He either leaves a direct link to the shop non stop tunning, or an ebay link, which non stop tunning is also an ebay store. It should be the members that are band, not the links.
The members should be weeded out, not the links.
The links should be acceptable if from a reputable member of club240, in this forum that is trying to help others out. If by chance it is a member with under lets say 20 post, I would put a ban on the link, it would be fishy and be something that doesn't help members out. It is real easy to weed out the bad apples.

I say ban the links.
I agree with Raine.....If I see something on the forums for something I want to buy, I don't want to have to be directed to ebay, make a bid, and wait for the auction to end. If I had the cash and I want the product, I'd like to have the ability to make the purchase right then and there. PM or email the seller, make arrangements on the transaction and it's bought/sold.
If a person really wanted to buy a certain product and they can't find it anywhere, that person will most likely turn to ebay and make biddings there.

I say ban the links. If the person wants to sell an item on a site they should put the time in to follow the rules there.

If they don't they don't care. Why should we care about them?
