engine noise????

My car is making a wierd whining noise that follows along with the engine RPMs. Not really sure what it is or how to fix it. please help

Also the belt for the AC probably needs to be replaced cause it squeals when I first start the car then goes away a few seconds later.

definatly not the stereo cause the noise is coming from underneath the hood. Possibly sounds like it is coming from the power steering pump.

Yeah, its probably the water pump. The bearings in the pump making a loud squealing noise. The water pump is especially annoying to replace. If you are lucky, it may be a slipping belt. In that case, all you would need to do is tighten the belt up so that it doesn't slip.

Pretty sure that it is coming from the power steering pump. Almost positive. I was listening for it and think its coming from there. It is a fairly quiet whine that follows along with the engine RPMs. Could possibly just be needing to replace the belts i believe.

gotta an update on the car. Turns out it was my altenator that might have been making the noise. My altenator went out on me last friday and now I'm stuck without a car. Probably gonna have to get the motor rebuilt or something. The reason that the altenator went out was because the motor, which has been leaking oil pretty bad lately, had been leaking oil on the altenator which caused it to go out. SO therefore i will probably have to replace most of the seals in the motor because the front main and possibly the head gasket seals are bad along with just about all the others. Since the shop is gonna be replacing all of the seals i think i have decided to get the whole motor rebuilt and then save up for the KA24DE Greddy turbo kit afterwards
