Question Engine swap and spedometer question

Just curious, but when you do an engine swap do you swap the spdometer gauge too since the new engine will be faster? how does that work?

personally, i would only worry about getting a properly calibrated tach...

towards speedometer: when ur going that fast, its all illegal so who cares? :b also, when going that fast, the speedo tends to get soooooo inaccurate its a guessing game anyways...

Yea I know my mom told me all about it....

I'm not planning to do anything right now....xcept ricey stuff (indiglo gauges, HID xenon lights, clear signal lights, and a cheap 69 dolla ebay muffler, oh and wheels) I was just curious if you have to get a new gauge or something.....its a question thats been bugging me..I just wanted to ease my mind

The only speedometer problem occurs when you install an S15 engine because the sensor mounts on the diff. instead of the tranny. But even then you don't need to swap the gauge. You do however need to swap the tach with an sr if you have a sohc or else your tach just won't work. Even if you have a dohc it's a good idea to swap the tach since the ka and sr have different redlines. BTW why would you spend thousands of dollars on HID lights instead of getting an sr?

You don't know much, do you? Those are just bulbs with tint, infact those bulbs REDUCE visibility by A LOT. Real HID costs and arm and a leg, and works wonders for visibility.

HID ballasts and bulbs run about $600. The kits that run in the thousands include new housings with projectors.
