Ya'll sound so hardcore.

I went 3 Miles without Brakes. Downshifted all the way ..and killed it at the stop lights. I actually have to slow down enough so I can stick my foot out and stop it w. my foot.

Ya'll so hardcore.

lol, there's a fine line between hardcore and ghetto... you my friend are dancing and pissing all over it. So I finally figured out how to shift my car without the clutch, haven't tried it in first gear yet though. My dad mentioned something about this method wearing out the clutch quicker though...

No clutching doesn't use the clutch at all. Your information is wrong.

I drove my car with out brakes for 3 days, from baltimore md to College park twice( each way about 25 plus miles) and back to get the part i needed to fix it

i was driving with traffic and a lil faster, luckly i had a 3rd stage clutch it was not hurt i downshifted a ton with out over-reevign. and used the ebrake to come to complete stop.

why use ur foot lol pretty sure u fried ur NIke's????

hey you don't happen to drive a white S13 do you? and yeah you're right I just realized that when I read your post. But I mean there's gotta be some sort of shock/stress when you shift without the clutch~ maybe on the syncros? or the actual gears themselves? I don't know because I don't know EXACTLY how the manny works...

I had one on road for 2 weeks in January....but then a guy totalled it. It doesn't hurt if you do it right because the engine and driveshaft engage only when they are at the same speed. It's supposed to do that. What the clutch does is lets the driveshaft slip while it catches up to or slows down to the engine speed. When you rev-match...you just eliminate the clutch, thus saving wear. There is no abnormal wear on the clutch, engine, or gears when you do it correctly. On the test for a CDL....you are acutally required to shift up and down two gears without the clutch, because trucks are known to lose the clutch.

so... it's ok to just shift without the clutch all the time (assuming it's done properly) and save yourself a little wear on the clutch? I went to CMU for about 4 years, had my Zenki my last year there (2003-4). There was a guy with a white s13 hatch that I used to see driving around Oakland all the time but I never got to meet him. Used to drive around Schenley Park when there weren't too many cops... sped around the Waterfront too (also when donut patrol wasn't cruisin' about)

No brakes means just that, NO BRAKES. No E-Brake..nothing.

the Ebrake was my fault..never hooked up the lines.

I doubt your clutch is bad.

I bet you didn't bleed the system enough..... It took me like 10 min. to bleed the system.

I had to do exactly the same thing on my 81 rx7 when my clutch master went out.

Had about a 10 mile drive home from school, fun fun.

I highly recommend learning to drive without the clutch for anyone who has a manual car...especially if it's old and busted

You start the car while it's in first. Reason to why he had to turn the car off at every stop.

hmm

i posted this a while back

and to update u guys lol. that was clutch number 1 of the summer. i am now on clutch 3 ( poor and could not afford to buy a brand new one) untill today. just purchased a Centerforce stage II kit dual friction.. So when i get this kit, i will be pulling down my tranny for the 4th time in the last 3 months

My motor is performing just a lil over factor specs and its eating oem clutches alive lol with drift practice and autoX. i actually broke the welds on one of them while racing a 05 Si on some winding roads. I won the race, but my car lost the battle.

Highly Recommend www.ThePartsbin.com for Oem and aftermarket 240 parts.
