i m in a situation... i m gonna buy a 96 240... its flat black right now... the paint is like 6 months old or so... and i m wondering if i should clear coat that or keep it flat black... the paint isnt the flatest black you ve seen... its in between flat black and clear coated black ... go with the clear coat! If you do sell your car down the road, a flat black car would be harder to sell and most liky wouldn't bring the $$$

just my 2 cents

I like the flat black. Maybe you should sand it and put some more flat black primer. Find some old issues of Sport Compact Car and see their flat black project 240; looks great to be from spray cans!

he likes to keep his awd gsx instead the 240... his plans were sr20 or rb25 but never came to it... it has a s15 front end conversion... so he said keep it flat black because painting the fenders and bumper with a clear coat will show a lot of blemishes because fiberglass isnt as smooth... or something like that so he did flat black and i figure just keep it flat black since it wouldnt be good to clear coat the paint after 6 months anyways... so i think FLAT BLACK it is ... but i m telling you this black isnt the flattest black

Was it a member of this board? I think I remember someone with a flat black s15 conversion. Looks good but you can alway repaint it latter if you want.
