how do i know if it's DE or E?

Question how do i know if it's DE or E?

i have 91 240sx se, how do i know if i have KA24DE or KA24E?

and does make difference on rebuilding the engine?

well since you got a 91 you got a de. 89-90 have the E. 91-98 have the de.

The 240sx s13s came with the KA24E (sohc), and the s14s have the KA24DE (dohc)

holy crap i never knew the difference, shows my ignorance...i've shamed myself...V_V...also there should me a small metal plate stuck on the passenger side of the engine area telling you the specifics...like color code/chassis/engine type and whatnot

hehe i got a 90 and it says ka24e, but its wrong. Swapped in a de outta a 91

1989-1990 had a single-overhead cam and the 1991-1998 had a dual-overhead cam.
