Intake Question . . .

Hi, ive been looking for an intake for my 93 240 and ive found the one i want. Its an Injen Intake System. Its the im going to get but i was wondering about a cold air extension kit that i can order with it. Would it be better to just get the intake and not the extension kit or should i get both. Here are some links to the intake and extension kit. The first link is the intake and the second link is the extension kit. Thanks for and comments or suggestions.

Cold denser air produce more horsepower,Cold Air Extension means more power too if u want an answer this it. I will recomment this if you are really an@l about gettin all the horsepower u can from ur N/A engine, other wise its not really worth all the money .

CAI has more piping meaning less throttle response. Somethign to think about. Just get a short ram, get a vented lamp cover, and go sleepy eyes to raim air the short ram intake and you have something good.

My suggestion: go for the Injen intake (CARB legal sticker and all) but don't pay their rediculous price for the extension. Instead, drop another $30 or so on a generic Ebay intake, toss the Ebay air filter, and trim the piping to serve as your cold air extension. It's an easy job and much cheaper than getting their $100+ extension piece ($100? something like that I dunno I'd never buy one)

about $40

Like Arctic said, the difference (if any) wouldn't be missed.

No, I don't think so. Not worth the price of risking a possible hydro lock. Like I said, rock sleey eyes and raim air it and you got all the cold air you need I think.

Well around here a lot of people like the Injen because it's CARB legal (which doesn't apply to you) but at the same time a lot of people also don't like the average price of the Injen. I haven't actually seen an AEM intake on a 240sx in person yet, but from past experience AEM products are on the upper half of things just like Injen.

Do a little research and check out everything that you get with the AEM and everything you get with the Injen. If you can't make a definite decision as to which one is quote-unquote "better" then it's a matter of personal preference from there. I'm sure both intakes work great judging from experience and personal opinions.

Back to the cold air thing - the hydrolock problem isn't really that much of a problem if you pay attention to current events and you check the weather forecasts for your area. If it looks like a storm is coming, just convert to short ram until the sun comes out again.

BTW if you do decide to get the Injen system over the AEM, PM me. We need to talk

Arrow If u go with a Cold Air Intake....

The best for somebody that lives in Rain/Flood type of weather area would be to buy the AEM Bypass Valve ,the valve is designed to make injested water in the intake come out of it avoiding hydrolock, pretty much it take off the hassle of making u remove the cold air extension part of your intake and it gives u that extra peace of mind .
