Exclamation NE body know about car shipping?

I am buying a 89 240 in damn good condition for $200 plus ipod! I know of two other good deals around same area. 92 240hb for free and a 89hb as well.

Does anyone know of an affordable shipper of autos? Oklahoma to Oregon.............

search "auto shipping" on google and you'll get a bunch of hits... most of the time you fill out a form online and they'll email you with quotes - then you can pick the best service considering what they charge, how they move the car (closed or open trailer, etc.)

EDIT: ballpark idea, to ship a car from New York to Los Angeles would have cost me about $800 through a reliable shipping service (closed trailer, no side trips, est. 6 day delivery)

It's expensive as hell. More expensive than say, buying a bus or plane ticket out there, and the gas money it would require to return home.

I just had my 240 shipped from GA to RI (which isn't too far away) and it was $600 and that was using a really bad company. I found that out after I paid for it.

It is a real pain in the ***. I was going to pay for a friend to fly with me and we would take turns driving which would only cost a total of $300 but I am not going to risk driving a 93 that far.

I found a car in Tennessee and had a friend pick it up for me. A month later I flew down there and drove it home to Washington state. I drove 18 hours and got to Douth dakota, then slept for 3 hours and made it to Billings MT where i stayed a day with my grandparents. Then left Billings for Tacoma Washington. Not hard at all and it only cost me about 200 - 250 in gas and a 150 dollar plane ticket.

My ex had her Eclipse shipped out to cali when she moved here from Louisville KY. It cost her 1000 to ship it here, and it got here on time and everything.
