im relocating my fuel lines to sit under the driver's side of the car and im having zero luck with the flare tool and fittings that i bought. I am contemplating using soft line to connect the factory hard lines to the new hard lines that are on the drivers side. is this a bad idea? what type of line do you guys suggest?
i was thinking about just using some steel braided high pressure fuel hose? it will only be for about a foot also

 

why not use hard or braided lines?

 

i bought all new hard lines, but im having a hard time getting the right fittings to work on the existing nissan hard line. the factory line is 5/16 for the fuel feed and return, and 3/8 for the tank vent. So i bought 3/8 line and fittings and the 3/8 nuts wont fit over the nissan line. doesnt make sense and is just aggravating. i was thinking about only using about 2 ft of soft line just to connect the existing nissan line to the new stuff. it would be from right where the lines first bend to run up to the front of the car, up above the driveshaft, and then they would connect to the new hard line. if i had the money i would just run some braided line all the way up but i cant afford that right now

 

when i built a 65 mustang and droped an Edlebrock crate motor in it i used steel braided line to get the fuel from fuel cell to the carbs. but since it used carbs theres no return line it all goes in >.>.

but yea just get some braided lines they will work fine.

 

any high pressure line should be fine.

 

thanks guys, i ended up getting the hard line i bought to work. i hate flaring lines though haha
