What is the 3rd steering bushing use for?

http://i24.ebayimg.com/06/i/000/db/28/c391_1.JPG

I just bought the Energy Suspension steering rack bushing kit for my S13.

The kit contains 3 bushings.

1) Driver side
2) Passenger side
3) ?

What is the third one use for?

it goes on a bit off center on the power steering housing i don't remember what side but it's obvious when you look under the car.

Follow the steering column down to the gear box on the steering rack. I think its on the right side (passenger side) of the gear box.

***This should be mounted on the cross member holding up the steering rack.***

Sorry, do you have a picture?

According to FSM, I only found the two bushings - one on the driver side (tear-drop shape) and one on the passenger side (round shape).

I dunno bro, that pic aint the full blown steering rack, just part of it.

But IIRC, there should be two near the gear box, just for stability.

if that is what your steering rack looks like then send me the third bushing because you wont need it. that pic is of a manual steering assembly and dose not have the gear box that i mentioned.

So are you talking about HISCA steering rack?

I have a 1993 S13 hatchback.

"manual steering assembly"? Do you mean automatic and manual transmission here?

I actually think that's an S14 bushing. My thought when I bought the kit was that it comes with the S13 and S14 passenger side bushing (they're different), while the driver side bushings are the same. I just replaced my rack and trust me, it only uses two bushings.
