Was it worth it?

Alright so i bought a 240sx se 1995 around a month ago for 1920.I know wierd price. 150k,5speed,vlsd,and rebuilt title. So far the car has had problems with the clutch and Master and Slave cylinder but replace both MC and SC for around 100. Hard to shift into gears and sometimes when i shift it wont go into gear and will grind. Bought new front fender and hood and drivers side lights for around 300. Got a new sunroof assembly b.c old one didnt line up and leaked 100. Needs new shocks and springs which is on the top of my list to do next, b/c owners befor me cut the stock springs to short and shocks are blown. And the paint is crap b/c they russian styled it and then bondoed straight over the original paint and in some places there was bondo about 1/2 to 3/4 of an inch. My big question is was it worth spending all that money for this car or should i just stop while iam ahead and try to sell it?

i think as long as it does not total to about 4k to 5k(with car) i think it might not be so good to keep the car. plus you need to see what else does it need motor wise. because a nice well maintained 95240se will go for around 4k to 5k especialy with new stuff(that you mentiond)but i would try to do everything my self.also check for rust, bad joints try to take it to a bumper to bumper shop to get a estimate of all the stuff it needs.remember you got it for 1900 and that ain that bad for 95se.just picture how mutch would you would of payd with all that stuff already in there

I would be careful though, remember its a rebulit title... so the value of the car will not be that high to begin with

I know your pain- I bought a 90 S13 with a variety of problems. It started out as, ok, shocks are blown, throw-out bearing in clutch is blown, idle is bad, oil pan is blown. So naturally I started going thru the motions of fixing it all. But then the alternator blew, the fuel pump was starting to go, the starter was acting up, and I busted the lower control arm. I'm giving up now and just parting it out and gettin another.

My point is, when it gets to the point when you start to think it's never gonna be in a stable place, you might wanna think about getting another car. You got it at an awesome price, but just think about whether it was worth it for all the stuff that you're having to deal with.

Ultimately, you have to look at what you have to work with, your budget, and how much more you're willing to keep trying. If YOU think it's worth it, then by all means, make it into the beast it deserves to be.
