ok its the yellow wire with green stripe my car had a silver dot

about every inch. it's the 8th wire down and goes into the ecu

the wire that looks like it just goes by so look for the wire

starting from the ecu maybe you want to make sure you get

some slack of that wire out just in case you put it back together.

so 8th wire down, get slack annnnnddd cut, now go test it if you

have a digital speedo like me you'll get the miles till 125 then it

just stays there but the car keeps going.

only side effect i've had is my revs go down when i take my foot

off the gas, they go to like 300 then go back up 700 .

and my revs at 125 where around 5500 dont know if thats

normal am i missing something. i'll check and come back with the

real numbers. anyhow have fun hope i help someone out .

goooosefraba!!!!!!!

will the hks sld work in a '97 240 with a sr20, and will the ls auto gauge work as well. and as far as the switch goes can you just be driving around normal and see somebody you wanna race and just flip the switch and go.

its in the ECU. if you connect the speed sensor from tranny to the car's ECU then you will have a speed governor.

1st. any switch would do the job. you can get it at radioshack, napa, pepboys or any automotive / electrical store.

2nd. you would put it on the wire that goes from speed sensor to ecu. (read more at the begining of the thread)

3rd. if you take out the rev limiter you would still be limited to 125mph cause rev limiter is the secondary speed limitation. the primary is the speed governor (@ 125mph)

read more at the begining of the thread.

okay, i bought my s14 used, so it may be different in my case, but i have gone well over what i have read in this thread to be 115 mph. i have topped 120 and come close to 130. my red line is at 6500 and i havent even passed 6000 at 125 or so. my speedometer tops out at 120, but my friend's Eclipse GT hits the governor at 125 and i was starting to gain on him, so here's my deal. i dunno if the governor is removed, cuz i havent hit it yet, but either way, i can easily go 125 with rpms left before red line. ill take a pic and post it if and when i get there....

auto ecu

i've heard that swapping in a auto ecu/same year car also can rid of this. and it raise redline higher also.

Let us know how it goes. I moved this into "How-To", by the way, as opposed to general chat.
