To help me clear up some issues I'm having with a friend of mine, could someone tell me what kind of times (roughly) a Ka24de S14 will run with underdrive pulleys, headers, and exhaust? Im trying to convince him that all-motor is not all bad.Im going SR but because of his money situation I suggested that he go all motor. He doesnt believe its worth it.
there are too many variables to 1/4 mile times... track driver clutch tires reaction time...somewhere on here there was a post about 163 whp out of intake header exhaust and under drive pullys... now im no math genius and doing the calculations on that would drive me knuts... but with a lot of work the na ka tops out at about 250 from what i have done research on... im hoping i can surpas this with my motor build but with the money im putting into it you could do the sr20 swap and get suspention... save save save... even if it is only 10 bucks a week...put the money you would spend on goin out into the car and get the swap... if he wants it bad enough then he will have it... if your friend has questions about a na ka then he or you can catch me on aim screen name wikd24d...
lol 250hp wow if you get that with out stroking your engine gl..........and if you do hit me up cause i want to do everything you got..........im going ka24E yes E gotta love the single cam the torque...but i have headers, custom intake, custom exhaust, and the crank pully(no pully set for E).......origianl time 17.1 all stock with 146,000 miles on it but man i have some pep out of it i am thinking mid 15's, but on the other hand my friend with his de ran 15.6 with just injen intake and custom exhaust so low 15's with header and underdrtive pully's well that is my two cents..........

i got a 95 se all i got is a cheap ebay intake and last thur. i made 7 passes at the track. my best time w/ my tool box and spare tire and stuff out of the back was a 15.7 and that was spinning pretty bad out of the hole:60 ft was a 2.3,i could prob pull a 15.5. so i'd imagine w/ some decent bolt-ons and some nice tires you would be knockin on low 14's.
I have a 95 KA24DE motor in my s13.
Mods:
AEM intake
Hotshot header
NGK Iridium IX plugs and NGK wires
advanced timing 3deg.
Tsudo muffler
Walbro 255lph fuel pump
225/50/15 kumho ecsta 711 tires on stock SE rims
15.359 @ 90.49 mph

Track temp: 119deg.
Air temp: 91deg.
I was happy with the time...I'm shootin for 14.9 w/ LSD and s13 cam swap w/ 2.5" header back exhaust....14's w/ basic boltons would be bad ***....but wikd is right....driver has alot to do with it.

yea I got a greddy header, ebay intake, and hks exhaust and a ka24de out of a 95 in my 90 and so far with clutch issues (wasnt completely broken in at the time and went out during my 3rd pass) and no tach to go off of I got a 16.2 but my trap speed was about 90mph so it should have been like a 15.5-15.7ish but I was bouncin off the rev limiter like crazy, and most the power from what I've been told is gone after like 5-6k rpms. now I got a tach and fixed the clutch so we'll see how she holds up next week. they werent givin out time slips the night I ran the machine was supposedly broken so i dont know 0-60 and all that but I will let you guys know what I do next time I'm hopin for atleast a 15.7.
.... a lot of people know what internal setup to do for a KA-T, and there are a lot of different ways to set up the internals of a KA-T to get different results.
