here in nova scotia for 87 it was at $1.00/L cdn~US $3.70/gal. now it's at $0.79/L.

I'm gonna get technical and say "it's related in a way since if you advance your timing then a basic rule is to run higher octane fuel"

So ive heard the safest amount to advance the timing is around +7 degrees or so, and u must use 91.

2-3 max if you wanna feel better, but it won't do much. And to add to the previous info, higher octane in a relatively stock KA24DE might actually hurt your car, timing advance or not, if your ignition system has a hard time igniting the fuel mixture (higher octane = harder to light).
