Dude with the PDM cams the KA can max out at about 195WHP. But who wants to spend $800 ona set of cams. You can probably do it with bian crower cams for under half the price.

Or you could just SR swap with a KA transmission, so you get the HP of an SR and the TQ of a KA . . .WOOOOO 4 cylinder torque baby!

ya i could, but performance cams arent allowed in my class, so i will be going with a 240/248 setup along with a few other mods and will pray for 180 whp

180 wheel hp isn't very realistic using 270cc injectors.
You would have to step up to an N60 MAF and sr 370cc injectors. Duty cycle on the 270cc injectors maxes out at about 165 wheel hp on 95 octane, Unless of coarse you step up the octane to 104octane which would then get you about 170WHeel HP.

Octane, injector pulse width and MAF are major factors to improve you HP.

ya i know 180whp is rather "unrealistic" but i'm gona shoot for it anyway and see what i can get, if i cant get over 170whp i'll be happy, and in my class you can't replace the MAF either which really sucks but u can go up to 100 octane fuel, and i dunno about the injectors in my class i'll have to check....

man i wish we had NASAX here i'm not a huge fan of the SCCA autox classing rules) but o well i'll take what i can get i guess

edit i forgot to ask, anyone one here ever put the SOHC pistons in their DOHC KA? i just got a set of SOHC pistons for free and am wondering if it is worth it to pull apart the whole engine to install those. question 2: i know in the NA frankenstien thread it mentions that you should NOT put in SOHC pistons with performance cams because you could have a piston/valve collision, i assume this is just for true performance cams, so a SOHC piston-240/248 DOHC (1995 SE) motor would be ok?????
