idling problem

my car doesnt stay idle, it will start but then it will die in a couple of seconds. my friend thinks its a failing head gasket.... i just wanna make sure if any of you think he's right and i would really appreciate it if you have any other suggestions that would help. thanks..

this is what has been changed so far:
-fuel pump and filter
-new battery
-new spark plugs
-oil change

I was going to say fuel pump, but you just changed that. hmmm i dunno then. Vaccuum leak can cause erratic idling, but dunno if it can cause it to die.

My car is idling weird as well. I was wondering how you check for vaccum leak and how to fix it.
