KA24DE differences

Ive been looking into the various options I have for my car now, particularly an engine swap. Now, Im from the UK, so getting hold of an SR/RB engine is pretty easy, and fairly cheap. Unfortunately, thats not really what I want. Ive been thinking of a KA-T, as I dont think theres a single one over here yet. Not only is it different, but Ive seen some good results from the KA-T conversions from you guys in the States.

I believe the KA24DE is the same engine as found in the Nissan Terrano? Are there any differences? Obviously to import a KA24 from the US would cost quite a bit, but if the engines are the same, I can probably pick up a donor for peanuts.

Thanks for any help

Never heard of that vehicle BUT, it probably has a different oil pan, maybe intake manifold, etc... If it is a KA, there will be small differences. Also, is it a RWD vehicle?

As I recall, its an AWD vehicle, so obviously there will be some differences. My main concern was with the block itself.

Although from some digging, its starting to seem that the cost would outweigh the point...

lol, thats weird that you want to swap in a ka, but cool. usually people swap and sr or rb and get rid of the ka. but yea ka's came in the 240s, altimas, frontiers, and a couple of other cars, they all have minor differences. the altima ka wouldnt work, mabey some accesoories from it or something but thats what ive heard. To know what your getting and be sure it would work I would look on ebay or the forums for a s13 or s14 ka. you could proabably contact some shop in cali or something that does sr swaps too, theyve got bunches of ka's just layin around. lol, thats still weird about it being hard to find a ka, lol its alwas the opposite way around.

I'd rather have a KA than an SR, CA, or RB20

I dont have an SR, its a CA. While its a good engine with a lot of potential, Im always worried the big end bearings will die on me. I was just after something a bit more robust.

Ill have to do some more research, thanks a lot guys.
