KA24E problems

ok i just bought a 90 240sx and i started to do some maintinence on it. first i sprayed some carb cleaner into the throttle body and let it set for a lil while to eat away some of the gunk in there. then after a while i started up the car and as usual it doesn't start very well and blows smoke out the tail pipe like its supposed to. well after i did all that my motor wont rev past 2000rpms so im not sure what makes the car do this. i thought it mite be the fuel pump but the car idles fine...i replaced the sock tho. i also took the intake manifold and injectors off and cleaned them to make sure it wasnt a fuel problem. im thinking that maybe one of my O2 sensors is bad or clogged or sumthin...if anyone has any suggestions please post to let me know...thanx

Dude you should never use carb cleaner on a fuel injected car it can damage the components. Always use a proper throttle body intake spray. Oh and do it while the car is running you don't want to get vapor lock or something. God only knows what that did to your fuel injection but it's generally not a good idea especially to let it sit in there. If the car idles it's not the fuel pump. Check all you connections to the the intake wires and vac lines. That happen to my car when I was putting it together but stopped after I hooked up all the lines right.

The difference is that a carb is totally mechanical while fuel injection has many sensitve electronic sensors that can easily be harmed by too harsh of a chemical. The carb cleaner is more of a full blown chemicaL cleaner while the intake spray is specially formulated as to not damage things like the MAS and air pressure senors.
