Question My motor Died, need some help...

well, I have a 95 OBDII 240sx SE auto, that should be all you need to know about the car, its bone stock too, I was comeing home from houston and i felt it loose some power, so I was like UHH OHH, i got on the shoulder and it died.

When I turn it over I cant hear anything but the starter, So I was thinking the timing chain, I got the car home pulled the valve cover off, its perfect, check the condition of the plugs, they all look good, Gonna buy a compresion tester, see if any pistons have no compresion, just wanted to hear some opinions.

Just to clarify the sound it make when I turn it over, It just the whine of the stater, i cant hear and compresion of exaust, or anything like that.

Ohh, and when it died, the temp guage was right in the middle as usual, and then after i got in pushed to a parking lot the temp guage, jumped up to all the way to hot.....then i just checked the water and there is not....why didnt my temp gauge tell me it was hot.......now i think its something bad.....

did the tapping get fast as the gears changed from 1 to 2 and so on? if so you spun berrings on the crank.

the tappin got louder, as it reved, i guess it got faster. But would that be the reason it sound like theres no compression.

well, I checked the compression, and all four are dead, i poured some motor oil in them , and that let them get all the way up to 60 PSI, so that must mean my rings are shot.

So, I wanna know Why they died, I think it must have over heated, because there is purpeling on the plugs. So, does anyone know, if say the water leaked out fast enough to stop passing the temp sensor, would it just stay where the water last touched it. because it registered normal(right in the middle of hot and cold) untill It was stoped and was sitting there for a while. Then it jumped all the way up to hot.

P.S. anyone got some rings and posibly pistons they wanna give away, lol.

My step dad has a SOHC but i dunno if the rings are the same, plus it has 367,000 miles on it, but dont the pistons bump the compressoin up,

thanks for the help

well i found the culprit, and i dunno what it is for, there are some holes in the water pump, and all my water just poured out of it. I think they are to grease the bearings or something, but water was pouring out of them.

one shot of it.
