What makes a oil cooler cost so much?
(when a radiatior cost less and is so much bigger and preforms the same task)

sort of.......and your sorta off too! to create an oil cooler, first you need a sandwitch plate to go between the filter and block, to re-route oil flow. then you need oil lines, and most kits include super high end fittings like those from earls, which do not come cheap. also most kits include braided stainless lines, also not cheap. then theres your heat exchanger, the actual cooler, which costs about 150$ or so.........so altogether, while companies do charge a premium for oil cooler kits, they arent as overpriced as you think! and they have to make a profit, thats where you are right, if they mass produced oil cooler kits, they could definately bring prices down a bit, but not low enough, i believe, for people to start snapping them up right and left................ive got one though

a BM aluminum oil cooler is the route im taking. cheaper than a HKS or Greddy. i dont drive the car hard enough everyday to need a high perf. cooler.
