Question Quick S13 to S14 Cam Install Question

Ok, i'm going to install the S13 cams into my s14...... i'm going to run the :

248 Intake & 240 Exhaust Setup

since this will be the best power setup for the KA......anyways.

My Question is...... do i need to pull any teeth on the cams or can i just bolt them back up the same way as the stock s14 cams were set on??

Since the S13 is 240 Intake 248 Exhaust that means you are gonna swap them around. Take a picture or a mental note of the position of your stock cams and using a sharpie mark on the chain the link locations of the marks on the Intake and Exhaust Cam Sprokets. Put the S13 Exhaust Cam on the S14 Intake side and line up the Dot on the Sproket with the Mark you made with the Sharpie. Than turn the Cam counterclockwise 4 teeth for Upper End HP or my personal favorite 3 Teeth for low end Torque. Than you Take the S13 Intake Cam and put it on the S14 Exhaust side and line up The Exhaust Sproket with the mark you made on that side than turn Clockwise 4 Teeth. Now I've never put a 240 duration cam on the Exhaust side so double check other places to make sure it's 4 Teeth clockwise. When its done look at the orientation of the Lobes and see if it matches the way the original S14 cams looked. Meaning when you started the swap, the Engine should be at TDC and the No 1 Cylinders Cams should be pointing almost directly away from each other.

the 232 is the stock cam in our cars we got 232/232, so that would be the exhaust cam from the 91 S13 and our stock exaust cam.

240sx cams

Intake/Exhaust
232/232 is from 95-98
240/248 is from 91-94

This might help you also, 95-98 with 2x248 exhaust cams, -4 on the intake side.
