Start up issues

When I start the car I have to give is gas to keep it up....then after a few seconds I can let go. If not, it boggs down and shuts off. I smell more fuel than usual. Any ideas on what it could be?

looks like I have my hands full this weekend.

New brakes and calipers go it. Gotta check the rear sway bar cause it's swayin' when it shouldn't. Now I have vacuum lines to check, injectors to check, a fuel filter to replace, and spark plugs to change. SWEET!

I'd take doing that over dealing with a craky girlfriend anyday!
It's a pleasure to work on the 240, you're looking @ it all wrong!

I sometimes take any excuse to work on her.

It it were a vac leak the idle would try to keep dyin on you. Oh yea, that sway bar thing sounds funny, lol. All you gotta do is take a peak at the bolts, lol............

Robbie

edit: also with a vac leak you wouldnt smell fuel.

Sounds like leaky injectors to me. Other than that, I get white smoke. Not too bad, but noticable none the less.

I've gotta figure out that damn vibration. It's vibrating for about 3 seconds, then off, then on, etc.....soooooooo annoying.

Dammit if only one of you folks live near by I'd invite ya over for a cookout, beer, and my 240 so I can get this bish runnin' mint.

well the vibration comes from the radiator fan, needs to be replaced. I'm replacing the head gasket as well, since that's what seems to be causing my white smoke issue.

On my talon, we had an EGR block off plate you could install to eliminate almost all of the vacuum lines except 3 or so. Is there such a thing you can do to this car?

It sounds like the EGR to me same thing is going on with my car right now. Diagnosed the prob, but don't have cash to fix it.
