tapping valves
Can anyone help me???
I have the KA24E and I just had my head assembly rebuilt but the rockerarm on one of my cylinders has a bad tap. Is there any way to adjust the gap??? Or should I try a new cam...
Thanks for any help

Sounds like ur goin thru wut I went thru on my CRV....
that rockerarm, valve and cam might be seriously messed up... check and see if theres oil going to the valve train, even tho u have full pan of oil (4 quarts) the oil might not be getting to the upper head unit properly, therefore resulting in a burned cam or rockerarm, or valve... it seriously sound like the same situation I have rite now, one or more of those parts maybe burned and it'll give u the tapping noise. No oil will cause the tapping (friction) and it'll be a biatch to buy the new valve train for that cylinder.
Double check the gapping on both sides of the rockerarm first, but if its been tapping for a while, its gone bro, gotta buy a new setup... check out the salvage yards, they might have a whole new vavle train out there for a good price. if u do end up with the whole new valve train, check the valve guide for any problems, if its messed up the way I think it is, ur prolly better off getting a new head. Servicing the head at a machine shop cost almost as much as a good head thats used.
