Should I search, I think I'll search
Easy...Get a timing gun and lock the car into 'timing mode'

Has to be done by a mechanic.
Wrong. Timing mode is your friend

I changed my fuel filter to a Z32 filter. The response is better, but there is still a lag. How can I change the plugs and wires, it seems fairly easy if I can get the tool to take out the spark plugs
Changing plugs and wires is entirely to easy. Remove wire by wire, replace with new as you go. Take out each plug and put new one in. A sparkplug socket is not nessecery, as you can use a normal socket and a magnet to pull out each plug. If you can change fuel filters, you can do this job. If not, I suggest a Haynes manual.

I put some STP fuel sysrem cleaner in and it seemed to get worse! I heard a POP under my car when I mashed the throttle. Yikes! Now how do I check the throttle body? Is that where the intake meets the left side of the engine? The butterfly thing that sucks in air? *Man I sound stupid.
Thanks for all your guys help
Using fuel system cleaners is a HUGE HUGE HUGE no go my friend. Nissan specifically warns against aftermarket fuel system cleaners. While nothing theoretically should have gone wrong, the possibility is there.

Based on your responses, the best course of action would be to purchase a Haynes manual for your car. They are informative and well written. They can be a lifesaver and teach you the basics at the same time.

when you say it lags what do you mean by that and what mods do you have? is it hesitating real bad? like its trying to go but is just not really doing it? I would say fuel or spark related. Like they said check your spark plugs and see if there all gunked up and or just pretty much gone. Then it could be a number of of other things like your injectors if one of thems gone then the car will have no power or it could be your fuel pump maybe its going out. Hard to say without being there. If you dont have a intake i would get one that will help your throttle responce.

Thanks for the feedback guys,
Yeah I was thinking I should just go get the hanes manual. I broke down today and went to the shop. The car ran fine of course! The gas is low now and I think that might be it! I usually put in Chevron, but due to a steal on gas prices I put in Exxon in my car; I think that's when all this started (I also put in the fuel additive at the same time). I want to change the spark plugs now.
The worst it got was when I first start the car in first gear it choked a bit. But like I said before it runs strong after 3 grand No Engine light coming on either.
Anyways I'm going to put in a fresh tank of Chevron '*with Techron' And hopefully she'll be all good to go and I can get my car smogged.

Filled up, car seems to be running fine, although I was not able to get the car smogged cause it would not maintain a speed of 15 mph. I have to find time to take it into a shop now.grrrrr. I really think it is the fuel injector's. If I recall correctly I had a similar problem with my last 240 and replaced one injector that was cracked. Is there a quick method to test which injector might be 'clogged' or 'bad'.
