i was told there is some kind of ratio. for every certain amount of degrees in farenheit that goes through the air duct, there is a tempeture drop which goes into the throttle body. these air ducts are designed and used to conserve energy in domestic use. there are also very flexible. i dont know how skinny you can find them but ive seen them fairly small enough to work with.

I don't know if it's really a "duct" but more like a "vent"... those louvered panels on Taka Kiara that you put on the front inner fender liner/spash guard so air won't get trapped in there or something...

...man maybe I should look at it again before typing LOL

Some people also use the vents as a "Ram Air" type of effect on thier intakes.

Kind of confused with the whole vents as a ram air. if anything i would use air duct as a cold air extension by removing the stock air box and ducting down from the mafs.

it's done in pro racing all the time... for example, if you put a NACA duct (shape looks like an ace of spades, sorta) in the hood slightly ahead of and above wherever your air filter is, air will rush through the duct "into" the air filter, using the cars velocity to do a sort of "ram air" effect.

The duct technique is also pretty good too... it's a low-buck mod that anyone can do

haha lol i was confused with the term air ram not taking in consideration the word effect. my bad articdragon, yea i was also giving an example on that air ramming effect ducting down i just thought of it as common sense for that type of application
