That is not the EGR thing. That is something different.

That is your cold start thingy-ma-jig.

Since its on your manifold, you cant just stick anything in there to plug it. Best bet is to remove the metal hose that goes to it and either find a plug that is the same size and thread pitch or to just weld the bit ch

Nothing. My car started and ran fine without it. Its supposed to help for cold starts. I never noticed a difference with and without it.

I never had any issues. It will be fine as long as you plug that hole. If you dont then you will have exhause gasses pouring out into your engine bay and it will smell really bad in your cabin.
