best paint job?
i'm gonna paint my 1990 240sx coupe and i was wondering if you guys could recommend a place to paint it...... a big name place (maaco, earl scheib (which has a pro2 plan that's now $270 instead of $470)) or privately owned place. to those who have had their cars repainted, please let me know where you had it painted and your experiences.
thanks,
any advice would be appreciated

k my friend had a 400 paint job from mayco, Gunmetal, but all they did was spray over the exzisting paint. Aftrer a year it started chipping, you could see the old red color undernieth, Also they didnt paint behind mudflaps and such. They got paint on his exauhst. they missed the bottom of his rear bumper and a lot of other little shiet. Just remember you pay for what you get!!

i agree, i also think a cheap *** paint job can be worth it if ur rolling around with a blue bumper red primer shell, white side skirts, and a yellow rear bumper. Any paint job is better than that!

there is gonna be no such thing as quality in a $500 paint job
this is one of those things that you definately should not cheap out on.
expect $1500+ for an OEM quality paint job, color change $2000+

Macco lays good paint... they just dont sand well or just acid wash your car... which is a big no no for show quality car... if you have any skills lay the primer, sand it, and tape it off yourself... or if your near upstate SC, I'm in a shop... I'll paint it for 500 and cost of the paint
