Yea so far so good Zenki.. I haven't run into any difficult issues (knocks on wood)

The KA clutch does mate right up the the tranny. Once I got the kit, the first thing I did was just that - slid the disc right on the spindle. The pressure plate bolts right up, just remove one of the dowels (doesn't matter which one) with a pair of vice gripes and it comes right out.

I almost bought an engine from osakajdmmotors, they gave me a really good quote. The same day I was going to buy from them I came across Japanese Star Motors (www.japanesestarmotors.com) They're only two hours away from me, so I was able to go to their location and have my choice from three different motors. They also did the compression test in front of me, and they were kind enough to knock off a couple hundred bucks since I picked it up.

Tomorrow the tranny gets bolted up. Then, I'm going to start the wiring - match up all the obvious terminals first and then do some research on what is left. Today I ordered the intercooler and piping kit off ebay, so while I wait for that I'll be connecting the power steering (not sure if i want it), fuel lines, throttle cables, and such.... Well, till then we'll see what tomorrow brings. Any comments and suggest let me know. Later.

I haven't done much with the rust yet. I did use a wheel brush on a drill and got the bubble part out. All I was going to do was fill it, shape it, and then paint it. I have no body work experience at all so someone else might be able to give you better advice. Let me know what you find out.

yea, auto shops and other stores also have whats called rust converter, and it chemically changes rust, and stops rust from forming. it is a little pricey, but it fixes car cancer, so its okay. you can paint over it. (it turns the rust black.

What a frustrating night! Earlier in this thread I mentioned that I couldn't mate the tranny completely to the engine for some reason... well, that reason was a huge pain in the groin and here's why...

Anyone doing the CA swap is thrilled to be able to use the KA clutch kit for their swap, but there is a catch. The catch is the alignment tool... its almost as worthless as a crap flavored lollipop... It turns out the tip of the alignment tool (past the teeth) is smaller than the tip of the spindle inside the CA bell housing. So the alignment tool (having smaller circumference) sat the clutch disc a couple millimeters lower, and prevented the spindle from sliding completely in the block. (cause it was hitting the outer area of its nested area)

I hope I've explained this throughly so everyone can understand it

So in the end my friend and I had to remove the engine from the car, then loosen the pressure disc and go through tiresome trial and error to align the clutch disc correctly so we could mount the tranny.... what I explained here in a few moments, took us four hours from finding the problem and getting it bolted on. .. With that said, I'm going to bed, and tomorrow the motor and tranny go back into the car as one piece... man what a night.

i used a grinder for the strut tower, i dont know how smart that was and i have pics. i just need to learn how to put them up for people to see. then i primered over that stuff and painted. again, i dont know how effective it was, it got rid of surface cancer. as for the driver's side wheel well, im actually afraid to touch it. i know its not at the frame rail yet knock on wood. and im contemplating taking it to a body shop. idk. good luck with ur swap tho. im liking the ca. a couple wesites i saw said it is basically a mini rb motor. as in an rb motor with two less cylinders. i dont know how true that is.

actually it is similar to the rb series engines and i wouldn't use a grinder on the rust there is still moisture in the metal thats what causes the rust do use some rust dissolver because it will get rid of the moisture underneath
