where did u get those hoses when i put my sr in i did some ghetto **** and the hoses ended up getting kinked and i had no heater i found this out when it got cold

i want to do it right this time so everything works

 

HeavyThrottle sells a heater hose kit.

 

I finally cleaned out and painted my engine bay yesterday. Earlier in the week I went in, taped things off, yanked old clips, removed old bolts, washed and wiped and removed any components that I could to avoid bagging them up.

I used Duplicolor...



low gloss black.

Pulled the lower engine harness.

Removed the coolant tank resevoir, P/S resevoir and fuse blocks.

Bagged vital things off.

try to score a HICAS front rack if you can. it's worth the headache.

 

Thanks and what are the benefits of a HICAS front rack? Pardon my ignorance but I know nothing about the HICAS system. Time for some search and read.

 

Ran into a problem today, I was trying to put together and mount my powersteering bracket and pump and found that they don't fit together. I read on the forums that you can use the DOHC KA power steering pump with the SR power steering pump bracket...well I went to mount mine together and put them on the block and they will not work together. I found out earlier that I received a HICAS SR power steering pump so would it be that the SR HICAS pumps and the regular SR pumps have different brackets?

My KA P/S pump and bracket on the left and the SR HICAS P/S pump and bracket on the right.

Here I have the SR HICAS bracket on the left and as you can see the KA will not fit in that mounting location, it's a tad too long or the mounting location is a tad too short.

So I guess my question is does anyone know if a regular 2wd SR P/S bracket is different from the HICAS bracket and will it mount on my KA P/S pump?

 

Does anyone know what this thing is and where it goes?

 

regular 2ws front rack = 17:1 ratio
hicas front rack = 14.7:1 ratio. faster.

racks are interchangeable.

 

i asked durdan about your ps problem. his reply:

durdan: remove pump
durdan: undo back 4 bolts
durdan: pull off rear pump cover
durdan: remove metal vane plates
durdan: reassemble pump
durdan: block of rear pump outlet fitting
durdan: now you have a normal pump


(using the hicas pump on your non hicas car without needing anything different)

 

looks like the little breather thing that hooks on the hose coming out of the tranny

Thanks for the tips, went to the KA and here is where the "thingy" goes. On the transmission like everyone said.

 

I'm gonna follow Bumnah's path so I got a OEM sidemount intercooler and I'm gonna partner that with a aftermarket hotpipe and b.o.v.

Everythings intact and I got all the hardware.

Cometic headgasket...I'm scared to put this thing on though.

Can't put this stuff on until I get other stuff so I'm playing the waiting game.....
