coil over question
i have searched and searched. but, i cant seem to find the answer im looking for. im going after a coilover system that i can adjust height wise and also stiffen the shocks/struts. i mainly do auto cross and drag. but i am looking into some drifting as well. maybe im just being picky, but i want to spend my money on something thats going to last a while with low maintence
i found these coil overs and wanted to know if they were any good.
NEX fully adjustable from 0 to 4 inches for about $600 not to shabby
they seem to be pretty nice. right now im using sleeve overs(HORRIBLE) and i need to find some coil overs that are worth buying.
i have considered tien and JIC but i cant decide. i have been a 240 owner for about a year and half, so most fo you have moer experience with 240s.
oh, i have a 98 240 just to let ya know.
Thanks in advance for the help.

i keep forgetting to add things in there. also, i would be willing to go with an adjustable shock/strut set up with good springs if there is no loud pinging noise from the springs and also no other funny nioses from the springs. i hate rattles and wierd nioses.

SO THEN - you're off with those "NEX' coilovers. They are not damper adjustable, and they're not really a "known" brand for suspension components for our cars. Thus the $600 price.
HKS, Apex-i, Tanabe, Tein, JIC, Silk Road, D2, - the list goes on and on. There's a lot of height/damper adjustable coilovers out there. Where have you been searching, bro?!?
Also, there's no "one fits all perfectly" scenario - autoX, drag, and drift all demand different setups. If you want to have something "good enough" (but not the best) to try all three types of events with one suspension setup, I'd suggest Tein Flex. Not that I'm being biased just because I have them, but they are a good "all around" coilover. Spring rates might be slightly soft for AutoX, dampening of the shock might be a little mild compared to a good drift setup - but hey, you either get something that is decent for all three events, or you get 3 seperate sets of coilovers - think about it
As for maintenance, expect to do some periodical maintenance on coilovers. It's recommended to check the seals and clean off any grime that has accumulated on the spring seats, pillowball ends, etc. as well as check and retighten spring perches. I do this basic stuff on my coilovers once every 3-4 months. I figure if I spent over $1g on suspension, I don't want it to go to crap on me because of my lack of maintenance skills.
Finally, coilover sleeves are a waste of money (Ground Control might be an exception)
