complete custom suspension

Ok I will be starting my 240 project with nothing but a shell. The suspension will be one of my first on my task list. What Im curious of is just how much of the suspension can be put together with aftermarket parts and how much will have to be factory. Could anyone give me a list or maybe a blow up of the from and rear suspension. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

all i know is that it will allow you to run a wider rear wheel/tire, and it is commonly used in 4X4 applications because it allows the use of a shorter damper and spring with more suspension travel, unfortunately i have no other information about how exactaly they went about doing this, but i am guessing that the "pushrod" mounts in the stock lower strut mount and the rest is pretty self explanatory. if anybody else has more info on this particular set-up or about the cantileiver system in general, please contribute.

Is this the same set up they use on Formual 1 cars, and on the highend sports cars?

yeah thats something youll see on lmp cars and other race vehicles. its easier to adjust settings and change out stuff quickly. f1 has the coilover perpendicaluar to the arm due to tight packaging of the nose.
