LSD ignorance
I have to admit my ignorance on this subject. I know what an LSD is, and why it's better than an open diff, but I don't know the differences between the "types" of LSD's.
What's the differences between a 1 way, 1.5 way, 2 way and any other types that I've not mentioned? I'm building my 240 for AutoX, so what are the pro's and con's for each? Which would you recommend?

VLSD - Viscous Limited Slip; uses fluid
Mechanical LSD - uses plates, a clutch or similar metal to metal contact
1-way - LSD only working when on throttle. pros: easy to learn driving with an lsd. cons: the second you let off the rpms the lsd might disengage, causing an inconsistency in handling.
1.5 way - LSD works on throttle, only slightly when braking. pros: full steering at off-throttle. cons: lsd action changes a little when you let off the gas.
2 way - LSD working at all times regardless of throttle. pros: consistent predictable lsd action at all times. cons: always squeaks when turning, can cause understeer during daily driving.
BTW this is from what I was told (I could be wrong)... try going to Kaaz site - they might have more detailed info for you
Almost everything you wanted to know about anything.......
